Why a symposium on wellness and artistic practice? The health crisis of the past two years has revealed rifts that have repercussions on the social, economic and even spiritual environments of our societies at large and in our artistic communities in particular.
Faced with these difficult observations, we want to believe that solutions exist and that it is possible to think of a world where the well-being of all would become an essential societal area of focus!
In order to support this cause and our community, we would like to offer a space for artists, social workers, researchers and health professionals to participate in open discussions where they can share their knowledge, experience and expertise on the themes of health and artistic practices.
For this purpose, three main areas of reflection will be addressed: :
– social prescriptions*;
– Intergenerational healing;
– Spiritual practices.
*A program in which health professionals provide a “social prescription” (dance classes, museum visits, etc.) to patients suffering from depression, anxiety or loneliness.
