DAVE ST-PIERRE

The O Vertigo Creation Centre welcomes choreographer
Dave St-Pierre as its first artist-in-residence.

Dancer, choreographer and stage director Dave St-Pierre, known for his unclassifiable works hailed in Quebec and throughout the world, will be the first artist to undertake the three-year residency at the Centre de Création O Vertigo (CCOV).

This unanimous choice by the selection committee has left Ginette Laurin both proud and delighted. Dave St-Pierre, who has an impressive body of works to his
credit, will thus be able to devote himself entirely to his art for a considerable length of time, while benefiting from the Centre’s technical and administrative resources. The aim of this creation residency is to allow the selected artists to create large-scale works, thereby raising the profile of Quebec dance and the members of its community.

Ce projet du CCOV est un grand geste, un pont qui se construit entre les différentes générations et qui saura grandement aider et bonifier notre milieu. […] Je suis reconnaissant envers le CCOV qui me donne l’occasion de pouvoir, enfin je l’espère, respirer un peu et me concentrer sur l’artistique.
